Obituary of Ursula Nix

NIX- It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ursula Caroline (nee Skupny) at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the age of 57 with her family by her side. Ursula is survived by her loving partner Richard Hikele; by her children Alex and Jacob (Tara) Nix and step-children Kaleb Hikele (Jess Liadsky) and Jenay Hikele; by her parents Michal and Alina Skupny; by her siblings Lorraine (Steve) Garnham, Diane (Mike) MacBride, and Greg (Carla) Skupny; by her step-siblings Don Hikele, Elizabeth (David) Gracey, and Gerald (Terri) Hikele; and by her aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Predeceased by Al and Hilda Hikele. Ursula was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario. She was an Ultrasound Technologist at St. Joseph's Health Care in London where the highest respect and accolades were gained by her students, colleagues, and Doctors, always being requested for her service because of her professionalism and talent. Loved by her many friends, especially “Mary’s girls”, she was known for her gentle ways, compassion, humour, and caring for everyone. She loved to bestow love to others. During her illness she remained strong and stoic facing everyday challenges with courage and determination to carry on. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm. COVID-19 protocols will be implemented. A private funeral will be held on Friday. Cremation to follow. God’s garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best. So when I saw you sleeping, so peaceful and free from pain, I could not wish you to come back, to suffer that all again.
