Dear Dollar Family. It was with much sadness that I learned of Steve’s recent passing. I offer my sincere condolences on his untimely and tragic passing. Steve was a fellow legal officer with me. We both joined the Office of the Judge Advocate General (OJAG) in the early 1990s. As young Captains we shared professional experiences and a few beers, especially in Germany. Steve was instantly approachable and likeable. He was always ready to lend a hand and his sense of humour was unique and infectious. He often made me laugh so hard to bring me to tears. I know many of Steve’s others legal officer colleagues had much affection for him. He will be sorely missed. I suspect these may be dark days for Steve’s family but, like me, they will have many great memories to make them smile. His indomitable spirit lives on. I thank Steve and his family for their service and many sacrifices for the OJAG, the Canadian Armed Forces and Canada. Fiat Justitia (Let Justice Prevail) my friend. Take care.
