Obituary of Herbert Pennings

Pennings- Herbert of St. Thomas, Ontario passed away on September 14, 2024 at the age of 67.  Herbert is predeceased by his wife Wilma (2022).  He is survived by his mother Gerda Pennings (late Henk); fiancé Liz McConnell and her family; by his children Valerie (Derek) Slingerland, Matthew (Julianna) Pennings, Justin (Jennifer) Pennings, Megan (Richard) Van Dyk, Lisa (Dave) Dekker, Philip Pennings, Bethany (Mark) Naves, Lauren (Tim) Kielstra, Luke Pennings, and Simon Pennings; by his grandchildren Ryan, Jack, Kaylie, Isabel, Keem, Aaralyn, Melody, Katrina, Levi, Emily, Jacob, Ethan, Abigail, Clara, Weston, Madilyn, Joshua, Hudson, Mikayla, Jodie, Curtis, Theo, and Ruby; by his siblings Frank (Adriana) Pennings, Joanne (Frank) Fousert, Linda (Allan) Brouwer, Diane (Rick) Postma, and Lucy (John) Van Eyk; by his siblings-in-law Marilyn (late Ron) Pennings, Liz (Steve) Doré, Rudy Haveman, Henry (Chris) Haveman, Pam (John) Orchard, and Teresa; and by his many nieces and nephews.  Herbert worked as Farm Manager at Quality Swine Co-op for 27 years before becoming a marble installer at Coni Marble until his retirement.  He was a member of the Free Reformed Church of St. Thomas.  Visitation will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 6:00-9:00 pm at the Free Reformed Church of St. Thomas 145 St. George Street.  The funeral will be held at the Free Reformed Church of St. Thomas on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 11:00 am and followed by a luncheon.  A private family interment will be held in McArthur Cemetery.  If desired, donations to Fresh Start Support Services would be appreciated.  Arrangements are entrusted to Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570).  Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.sjfh.ca
