Obituary of Kevin Harold Mellor

MELLOR – Kevin Harold of St Thomas passed away peacefully into the arms of his loving heavenly father after a short brave battle with cancer, at the St Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, February 29th, 2024, in his 61st year.  Kevin was a dearly loved partner and best friend of 22 years to Mary Brown.  Proud father of Lynn Barnhardt, Melissa Watson, Amy Mellor, Kimberly Stafford (Dathan), Deanna Dekeyzer and Cassandra Brown (William).  Cherished grandfather of Tyler Pavey, Alyssa Pavey and Kaiah Kelsey.  Dear brother of Martin Mellor (Melanie) and Sharon Leverton (Levy) and brother-in-law to Pat Mellor.  Sadly missed by a number of other nieces, nephews, a great nephew, cousins, aunts and uncles.  Kevin was born in Brantford, Ont. on June 16th, 1963 to the late Harold Mellor (2021) and Vera Mellor.  He was predeceased by one brother Glen Mellor (2009).  He worked as a truck driver in customer sales for a variety of employers.  He loved to be known as the bread and milk man.  Kevin was very proud of his family and will be missed.  The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff on the 5th floor and the staff on C wing – Complex Continuing Care of St Thomas-Elgin General Hospital for their unwavering care and support.  Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St Thomas (519-631-0570) on Sunday, March 3rd from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 4th at 11:00 a.m.  Interment to follow the service at South Park Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Online condolences can be made at www.sjfh.ca
