Obituary of Wayne Slaght

SLAGHT- Cameron Wayne passed away at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the age of 77. Wayne is survived by his beloved wife Jo-Anne; his children Gary (Pam) Slaght of St. Thomas and Paula (Eric) Maness of St. Thomas; grandfather a.k.a. “Pop” to Hannah, Marley, Madison and Charlotte; his brother Gordon (Yvonne) of Crediton; his brother-in-law Dwight Mackay; and by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Clarence and Eva Slaght; his sister Jean Mackay; his brothers Jack (Joyce) Slaght and Edward (Mary) Slaght. Wayne had retired from W.S. Stewart Investment Firm and was a member of First United Church. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 pm. Parish prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Monday at 2:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at First United Church 7 Curtis Street, St. Thomas on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 11:00 am.
