Dave, my father, altough we did not spend much time together when I was growing up, we managed to create beautiful memories over the last couple of years. We played cards and chess together, we created our favourite foods for each other, we went fishing and picked hapskaps up north, he played me some music and we had lots of laughs and cries. My heart has been touched by my father and I know he is at peace. Love and kisses, Jenny

Dave and his two wives is how so many referred to this fun threesome. We had the pleasure of having them visit us at The Old Mission Resort every year for many years. Fishing was top priority but always time for lots of fun and Dave playing guitar and singing. Thank goodness for memories. Love you all, Paul, Diana, Alicia & Justin ❤️

I have a number of wonderful memories playing music alongside Dave & others. He was always kind, pleasant, giving compliments to others, and wearing his fador & a big smile when I saw him.

Dear Friends am deeply sorry about Dave passing it was a blessing since he was in alt pain. I remember Dave growing up in Aylmer a great neighbour. Dave always took time smile, say hi not just to his many friends but to anyone walking pass the Garton house. He;sin heaven now looking down and smiling. I wish I could be there give the Garton family a big hug but am on east cost. I;ll always remember him. God Bless

My condolences to Dave's family, unfortunately I won't be able to attend the service and the celebration, but I wanted to share a story. Four or five years ago I was heading out to the golf course. I ran into Dave after not seeing him for probably over 40 years. He too was there to play a game and was by himself. We joined up; I had no idea he was such a golf nut. The stories were flying as much as the golf balls. We golfed together that day and many days after in league play and other occasions. Over the past years I'd look forward to receiving a call from him asking when the league started, and we'd shoot the breeze about it and many other things. Fast forward to this past year; we all knew Dave's health was failing but he called me to ask about another mutual friend who had passed away. I suggested that maybe he could come out to the course and ride around with me and enjoy the fellowship with some of the other fellows in the league. Well to my surprise he not only showed up but insisted on playing. After a great day out, we get together to split up the winnings as you can't play without putting a little skin money on the line. Well wouldn't you know that to our surprise Dave won some of that money. I will always remember the look of satisfaction on his face that day and the sense joy on the faces of the rest of the "guys' in the league. Rest in peace Dave and keep hitting them down the middle.

I had known David since I was 14 years old. He was my first male friend that I truly had deep feelings. He will be deeply missed as we had more than one funny conversation on 'messenger'. David was a great friend and he will leave an spot on my heart. One day we will connect and see the light of life together as best friends. I will you greatly.
