Obituary of Carole Blanche Garnett

GARNETT – Carole Blanche (nee Gebbie) of Chartwell, Aylmer passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at the age of 89.  Beloved wife of the late Robert Garnett (2019).  Carole is survived by her children John Norton (Carla), Kerry Norton (Cathy) and Elizabeth LeCourtois (Gary deceased); grandchildren Cheryl Lyn Elgie, Robert Norton and Danielle Lovell; great grandchildren Emiliya and Raechel Norton Silva.  Carole will be missed by her dearest friend Anna Chapman.  Predeceased by parents Gibson & Elizabeth Gebbie; siblings Robert Gebbie (Monica deceased) and Jack Gebbie, survived by Joan Sorenson (George deceased) and sister-in-law Betty Anne Graf.  Carole was born in Milden, Saskatchewan.  She moved to St Thomas in 1944.  She worked for the Red Cross as a supervisor for homemaker services.  She was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed gardening and travelling.  Bob and Carole enjoyed square dancing where they travelled in their motorhome all over North America.  She was an active member of the Grace United Church.  She loved to sing in the choir and helped out with church suppers.  Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Friday, November 11, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Private family interment of ashes to be held in Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery.  If desired, donations to Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners - Middlesex Office would be appreciated.  Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.sjfh.ca
