Obituary of Brian Michael Fitzpatrick
FITZPATRICK - Brian Michael, passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the St. Thomas Elgin Hospital on Sunday May 1, 2022 after a brave battle with cancer at the age of 72. Survived by his loving children Chris and wife Shelley, Carolyn Fitzpatrick and husband John Barbeau. Brother Vern Fitzpatrick & wife Sandy, Sister Mary Ellen Fitzpatrick husband Dave MacKay & bother-in-law Ron Ranger. Missing their Gramps are grandsons Curtis, Evin and Jonah; also survived by nieces, nephews, great neices & nephews, Aunt Pat Jones and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Vern and May Fitzpatrick and his sister Ruthann Ranger. Brian grew up and worked in Windsor ON and eventually settled in St. Thomas. He returned to college later in life and obtained his PSW diploma. He worked many years in food service and manufacturing industries until his recent retirement. He was happiest spending time with his kids, grandsons & other family members. Brian enjoyed the outdoors, camping, good food, good friends and a good beer. He always had a soft spot for pets. Special thanks go out to neighbours Amy & Adam, Friend Rod at the Back Alley, Doctors and Nurses at the LRCC, CarePartners, STEGH, Diabetes Nurse Julia, RT Julia and homecare coordinator Barb who all helped Brian to achieve his wish to stay at home. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St Thomas (519)631-0570. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Thomas Foodbank or the Humane Society. A simple gathering will be held at the Back Alley Bar & Grill 18 Princess Ave. St. Thomas at 1pm on Friday May 6, 2022.
