Obituary of Jeanne Gray

GRAY - Marie Lorraine Rejeanne "Jeanne" (nee Houle) of St. Thomas passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at the age of 75 following a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Jeanne is survived by her son Michael Glassco (Shari Workman) of Port Coquitlam, BC, her daughter Tricia Glassco of Guelph, ON, and her sister Marielle Montemurro of Brechin, ON. Jeanne leaves behind two grandsons, Benjamin Glassco and Andrew McRae who she greatly adored. Predeceased by her father Octave Houle, mother Juliette Houle, brothers Roger and Dennis Houle, and sister Rachelle Neilson. Jeanne was born in Timmins on April 3, 1946. Her family moved to Sarnia shortly after where Jeanne excelled in school and athletics going on to achieve a Business Accounting diploma from Lambton College. Jeanne worked for 18 years at Nova Chemicals in Sarnia and then moved to St. Thomas in 1996 where she worked in several administrative positions before eventually retiring from St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital in 2004. Jeanne was very active in her retirement, spending her time golfing, curling, travelling and enjoying great times with special friends. Interment of her ashes will take place at a private ceremony where she will be laid to rest with her sister Rachelle at Holy Angels Cemetery in St. Thomas. Arrangements entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570). A celebration of life at the St. Thomas Curling Club will be made at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Thomas Curling Club can be made in her honour. Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.sjfh.ca
