Obituary of Robert Austin McCaig

Obituary McCAIG - It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the passing of Robert Austin “Bob” McCaig. Bob passed away at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the age of 79. He leaves behind his loving wife Janet Taylor; his children Steven McCaig (Lisa) of Fort McMurray, Bill McCaig (Alison) and their children Olivia, Ruby, Isla and Penelope of Vancouver, Tyler Robinson of St. Thomas, Andrew Robinson and his son Wade of St. Thomas, and Shelly Harder (Elisabeth) of Cambridge, England; his brothers Doug McCaig (late Elaine) of St. Thomas, Don McCaig (Pat) of St. Thomas; his sister Sandra Jean Miles of London; his brother-in-law Chris Taylor (Michelle), sisters-in-law Cynthia Taylor-Luce (Dave), Joanne Fortin (Jerry), and Barb Feairs (Bill); and his many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Cyril and Reitta McCaig and by his brother Marvin. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Knox Presbyterian Church, 55 Hincks Street, St. Thomas. Cremation to follow, with a private interment of ashes on a later date. If desired, donations to the STEGH Foundation would be appreciated.
