Obituary of Evelyn Irene Young

YOUNG- Evelyn Irene (nee Eveland) of Caressant Care-Mary Bucke passed away at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Monday, August 3, 2020 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of William F. Young. Evelyn is survived by her loving children Cindy (Mark) Gregory and Bill Young both of St. Thomas; by her grandchildren Jarrett and Cobie of St. Thomas; by her sister Mary (Larry) Cook of St. Thomas; her brother Tom (Cindy) Eveland of New Sarum; by her step-sister Carman Haines of St. Thomas; her sister-in-law Mabel Hogg of Collingwood; and by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Shirley Cooper and her brother Ray Eveland. Evelyn was born in Elgin County to the late Ray and Helen Eveland. She retired from Therm-O-Disc in St. Thomas, where she worked for over 30 years, and enjoyed gardening, crafts, and a good laugh with her family and friends. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Thursday, August 6, 2020 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. A private service will be held at the funeral home on Friday. Interment in South Park Cemetery.
