Obituary of Marjorie Elsie Stinson

Marjorie Elsie Stinson, 3 Dec. 1940 - 20 May, 2017, passed on to her Lord and Saviour at her residence, Caressant Care, Bonnie Place, St. Thomas. Marjorie was the only daughter of C. Allan Stinson and Neva P. (Caldwell) Stinson and is survived by her brothers, Robert W. (Bob) and his wife Gladys, William A. (Bill), and James M. (Jim) and his wife Dianne, all of St. Thomas. She will be missed and fondly remembered by her nephew Brian Stinson of Blaine, WA, USA, and her niece Judy (Barry) McGonigle and their family, Rachel, presently studying in Australia, and Christopher, of Belmont. Marjorie spent much of her early life as a live-in child care and elder-care worker among family members in Norfolk, and Haldimand areas. On moving back to St. Thomas, she worked for periods of time at Weatherhead, Essex Wire, and Power Motion, then did house cleaning and newspaper delivery, where she was valued and made many friends. A Celebration of Marjorie’s Life will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 11:00 am, with Rev. James Evans of New Vision Community Church, (U.C. of C.) officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Cremation will take place after the funeral, with interment in Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to New Vision Community Church, (U.C. of C.) Building Fund.
