Sister Deb
As a little sister to TOM, I was given much opportunity to play baseball with all the big guys in the neighbourhood when they would line up and select team players one at a time in the back field behind our home. Tom would vouch for me that I was a good hitter. By doing this, he built my self worth and made me feel valued. Thanks, Tom.
Tom and I climbed the tallest trees in our neighbourhood together, and we enjoyed searching the creek for tadpoles, frogs, snakes and salamanders.
Often, on weekends, Grandma and Grandpa Scott would take us to the farm in Highgate where, on winter Saturdays, we would skate on the pond and where Tom got his introduction to hunting from Grandpa Scott. Tom got his own gun later and, about 15 years ago, he allowed me to shoot it off with his supervision. Wow! Powerful kickback!
Many Sundays, when we were still young, Tom and I went flying with my dad. I found the experience new and exciting each time. However, Tom was asked to remove his hat for me to get sick in as Dad circled the cottage at Rondeau again… and again… and again.
I could be a real tease to Tom, when I was bored, to get him to chase me out of frustration. I would climb onto the roof of our house to escape him, then jump off when he was close behind me – which he usually was! - until he eventually caught me.
My brother had a real big heart and shared it openly when he was younger and stronger. It was a wonderful blessing when Elizabeth and Tom met, as her two girls, Brittany and Briana, and his son, Shane, came together, and were later joined by little Angela who became the family connector.
May God Almighty please bless Tom with a heavenly home and his family with cherished memories.

Uncle Tom,
As a little girl, I remember thinking how cool it was that my uncle owned an actual boat! I’ll never forget the endless fishing excursions on that yellow boat, and watching you and mom take your turns one upping each other on the water skis. I remember lots of visits when you lived in Chatham so that Nick and I could hang out with Shane. I remember that surprise 40th birthday we pulled off for mom because of you. And I remember how gentle and soft spoken you were every single time I was around you. May you Rest In Peace and know that you were loved and cherished by many. My sincere Condolences to Elizabeth, Shane, Brittany, Briana and Angela.
❤️ Natalie

It is with great sadness that we learn of Tom's passing. His courage throughout his health challenges has been admirable. A great dad and brother and so much more so - a fantastic partner to dear Elizabeth. I loved the truth and candor or your relationship. Your friendship and connection has been a source of love and respect to me and I have been so enriched by the truth of your partnership and deep love. And, as Tom helped me make my houses a home I got a chance to see the skill and strength of this great man. So as heaven welcomes Tom in his home-going; I am so very aware of the void left behind. Love and prayers at this time and always; with great love and hugs xx m.j.

Sincere sympathy to Elizabeth, Shane and all other family members on this sad occasion. I remember Tom (and his sisters) from years ago at First Presbyterian Church and John McGregor Secondary School in Chatham. He was a pleasant person and a hard worker.
