Obituary of Carol Weir

Obituary WEIR (nee MURPHY), Carol Anne of St. Thomas (originally Sarnia) passed away peacefully on September 8, 2019 at the age of 73 with her family and long-time friend by her side. Carol is survived by her three daughters whom she deeply loved, Heather Weir of Mississauga, Jennifer Weir of Guelph and Laurie Weir of Toronto, who were her three bright lights and was so extremely proud of; her brother Dan Murphy of London; her cousins Leonard and Pearl Belton of Sarnia, Judy Belton Fisher of Sarnia, Susan and Henk Brouwer of Brights Grove, and Bill Belton of Sarnia; dear friend Sonja Ness of Woodstock; and “fur grandsons” Hugo and Joey. Predeceased by her beloved partner Eugene Best, parents Joyce and Vernon (Tony) Murphy, and cousins Sylvia, Bryan, Bill, and Mike. Carol loved visits from her daughters, trips to Port Stanley for ice cream, cousins days, weekend outings with her lady friends, reading, and watching her favourite show, The Voice. She was always the life of the party and loved to laugh. She had a generous heart and was a caregiver by nature. Cremation has taken place and a private Internment of Ashes will be at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery in Sarnia along with a Celebration of Life. If desired, donations to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family to help others in need. Thank you to the warm and kind staff of St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital and the University Hospital - London Health Sciences Centre for taking such good care of our mom this summer. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570). Personal condolences can be made at www.shawnjacksonfuneralhome.com. We will miss our “Mumble” more than words can say. We love you so much. To send flowers to Carol's family, please visit our floral section.
