Great memories of working with Bill in the early years of the St. Thomas Fire Muster. He always had his finger on the pulse of every aspect of the event. It was my privilege to have known him. Sincere condolences to the family.

Bill Turvey was a pillar and the driving force behind the St. Thomas Fire Muster which I attended every Labor Day weekend for its entire 34 years. I don't think Bill missed one of them, either. Bill was always the very first one at the registration site at the Timken plant on Talbot St. early Saturday morning -- unmistakable in his red jump suit and with his flag-bedecked1974 King-Seagrave/Ford fire truck. As a member of the muster committee, in both Yarmouth and St. Thomas, he always kept me informed of what was happening. In our conversations at the muster and in his phone calls to my home in Windsor, I ways always amazed at how involved Bill was in so many things besides the muster -- an incredibly kind, generous and community-minded individual. Things won't be the same without him. My sincere condolences to his family. Rest in peace, Bill.

Dear Marie and Family.... My condolences to you and your family in the loss of your beloved Bill. He was such a great man and did so much for the City of St. Thomas and more. I remember when I lived on the corner of Fifth Ave. and Chestnut Street I would see Bill washing his car and then of coarse waxing it. He was always friendly with a great smile.
God Bless you all. Shirley J. Shore London, Ontario

Marie, Craig, Jane, David and Drew I am so sorry to hear about Bill passing away so suddenly. I will always remember his kind heart and his willingness to help anyone in anyway he could. I remember his stubborn side when it came to the gospel, but I'm so grateful his testimony grew here on earth. Our family will always treasure the memories we have of Bill and your family. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
