Obituary of Anna Yvonne Boudreau

BOUDREAU – Anna Yvonne (nee. Young) of St Thomas, formerly of North Bay, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Elgin Manor.  She was born on December 5, 1931 in Whitney, New Brunswick.  Ann trained and worked as a teacher in New Brunswick until moving to North Bay in 1956 to marry her soul mate Adrian Boudreau.  Their love and commitment grew over 68 years and was witnessed by all who knew them.  Together they raised three children; Cathy Cotton (Rod), Kim Van Patter (Bryan) and Chris Boudreau (Lisa).  Much loved Nana to Andria Cotton, Bethany Cotton, Lyndsey Simpson, Leah Towers, Kyle Van Patter, Ben Boudreau and Taylor Boudreau.  Great Nana to Cole Simpson, Easton Simpson, Peyton McCauley, Finn McCauley, Keira Towers and Cash Towers.  Survived by her siblings; Loretta Boudreau, Elizabeth Woods (Adrian), Jim (Sylvia), Eddy (Judy) and Frank (Anita).  Ann is predeceased by her parents Reba and William Young; siblings Agnes, Katherine, Carmel and William.  Ann lived a quiet, faith-filled life, supporting and caring for others.  Adrian was her absolute best friend.  She took great pride in her home and was an excellent homemaker, cook and baker.  She was well known for her sweet tooth.  She enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, swimming, snowmobiling and spending time with family.  Ann and Adrian put many miles on their trailer as they travelled throughout Canada and Florida, as well as vacationing in Mexico with family.  Her loving, smiling nature and example is a legacy to her family.  Arrangements entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570).  Cremation has taken place.  A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.  If desired, donations to Alzheimer’s Society Southwestern Partners would be appreciated.  Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.sjfh.ca
