Obituary of Nan Baker

BAKER- Annie “Nan” (nee Mitchell) of St. Thomas passed away at home surrounded by her family on February 6, 2025 at the age of 95.  Beloved wife of the late George Henry Baker (2011).  Nan is survived by her loving daughter Colleen Durdle (Jeff Sawyer); by her grandchildren Cole (Mallory Quesnel), Caitlin, Shelby (Aaron Ryckman), Ashley, Amanda, and Lexie; by her great grandchildren Addison, Harper, Nash, Delaney, and James; and by her siblings-in-law Shirley Bork and Howard (Ethel) Baker.  Predeceased by her seven brothers and six sisters.  Nan was born in Coatbridge, Scotland to the late William and Mary Mitchell and emigrated to Canada at a young age.  Nan was employed at CHLO Radio Station, Fearn Ford and Thermo-Disc, and was a longtime member of Central United Church.  Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Sunday, February 9, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.  A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 1:00 pm.  Interment of ashes will be held privately on a later date.  If desired, donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children-Canada or Central United Church would be appreciated.  Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.sjfh.ca
